A large, flat-screen TV looms over the couches, and will serve as a way for Big Brother to communicate with the housemates.

The evictions room will be another key area of the set-up this season.

Illuminated with neon purple and orange lights, it features an array of velvet couches that have all been positioned to face a wall-mounted TV screen.

The 'green room' chill-out area will be used by the housemates to unwind and get to know each other better.

Eco-friendly inspiration: The 'green room' features a large, green circular couch and a canopy of hanging plants

Like many aspects of the house, the green room has been been built with ecological sustainability in mind.

A large, green, circular couch takes up most of the room, while a canopy of hanging plants covers the ceiling.

Meanwhile, the basement features a mysterious, custom-built games arena where the housemates will be put to the test in a variety of physical challenges.

The nature of the challenges is unknown, but it seems the housemates will certainly be put though their paces.

The housemates will have access to a luxurious back garden complete with a huge swimming pool, outdoor furniture and gym equipment.

Decorated with pot plants and sustainable timber panels, it's the perfect place for housemates to relax.

The ecological focus of the house is also clear in the dining room, which features a large wall of indoor greenery and plant table decorations.

A long timber dining table stretches across the room, surrounded by futuristic, see-through chairs.

Elsewhere, the large bedroom is decorated with a purple and pink colour scheme.

The room has been organised with two rows of beds facing each other, perhaps a way to ensure that any late-night romance doesn't go unseen by other housemates.

The famous diary room where individual contestants can speak privately with Big Brother has also been unveiled.

A striking shell-shaped couch is positioned on a raised platform in the centre of the room, while the walls are illuminated with neon purple and pink lights.

The hallway leading to the diary room is also lit with fuchsia neon lights.

Finally, the communal bathroom features sustainable timber shower stalls, long marble-look vanities and a velvet ottoman in the centre.

The house is littered with 65 cameras including GoPros, as well as purpose-built set cameras.

Channel Seven has revealed more than 53,000 people applied to be on the new Big Brother and over 100 crew members have worked on the series.

The show was pre-recorded throughout February and March in Sydney, and will have no public vote until the finale, which is believed to be the only live episode.

It will be hosted by Sonia Kruger and the age of the 20 housemates ranges from 19 to 61.

The contestants consist of semi-famous influencers, aspiring actors, rural farmers and busy mums looking for a break.

They will all compete in a series of 'Survivor-style' challenges to win a $250,000 cash prize.

The reboot will premiere on June 8 at 7:30pm on Seven, hosted by Sonia in her first major role for the broadcaster since being poached from Nine last year.

Seven executives are hoping the rebooted series is a ratings smash after spending millions on rights to the Big Brother name and format.
