This text aims to deduce evidence of Paulo Freire's thought that point to his concern with constituting education as a right. It starts with the author's reflections about other rights such as: to know the word; to read the world and the word; to have your voice heard; to cultural freedom; to the cultural revolution; to recognize intentions; to coexist; to education that contrasts myths; of being a political author; of not being a deposit; to educate for life; to mobilization; and making new choices. For that, a bibliographical research was carried out in which some of Freire's works (2011, 2006, 1996 and 1982) were analyzed. Data were analyzed using the evidence paradigm described by Ginzburg (1989). Despite not directly addressing the theme of educational law, it is possible to find evidence of his concern about the subject. Reading the world and the word, combating the silencing of subjects and social groups, freedom as a formative principle and the political character of education are some indications of Freire's concern in pointing to education as a right.
