Abstract

This article analyzes the monitoring and evaluation process of the Municipal Education Plan (PME) of the municipality of Itu/SP in force, seeking to identify the political logic, advances, setbacks and challenges, highlighting the conceptions of education, its structural and conjunctural limits as public policy. This writing is part of the third stage of the research entitled “Educational Planning: monitoring and evaluation of the Municipal Education Plans of the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba/SP”, developed by GEPLAGE. This is an exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, with the analysis documentary as an initial technique. As field research, questionnaires were applied to respondents, the results of the research highlighted the paths taken, which present experienced impasses, pointed out gaps during the monitoring process, periodic assessments carried out by those responsible for the PME of Itu/SP.

PhD student in Education at UFSCar- Sorocaba Campus. Member of GEPLAGE – Study and Research Group on State, Policies, Planning, Evaluation and Management of Education, linked to CNPq. Professor in the municipal education network of Sorocaba.
