Abstract

The purpose of this document is to present a study of the "Tereza de Benguela" occupation area of the Homeless Workers Movement, in Maceió/AL, based on the systematization of a set of data and information about the spatial reality of the community. To this end, in addition to bibliographic and data surveys on the issue of housing in Alagoas, dialogue and immersion activities were carried out in the territory that made it possible to spatialize conflicts, raise social indicators, contextualize the location of housing and characterize areas of common use, including with regard to the environmental resources available in the area. In addition, pedagogical practices were developed for the formation of spatial awareness and geographic literacy, drawing attention to the active participation of local subjects in this process.

Undergraduate student in Geography - Bachelor's degree, from the Institute of Geography, Development and Environment - IGDEMA/UFAL, at the Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL. Member of the Laboratory of Applied Sedimentology - LSA/UFAL. Scholarship holder of the Tereza de Benguela Agenda extension project, aimed at promoting actions in the lines of environmental education, human rights and the right to housing, in addition to preparing a socio-spatial diagnosis and social cartography of the Teresa de Benguela Occupation. He is interested in Physical Geography, with an emphasis on sedimentary geology and geomorphology, as well as Human Geography, with a focus on studies on cities and communities. It seeks to integrate physical and human perspectives in the understanding of socio-environmental and territorial dynamics.
