This article reports the experience of implementation of the pilot project Cine Sociais, developed under the discipline Extension Practices in Social Sciences II of the Federal University of Alagoas (Ufal). The film club integrated cinema and politics around the objective of stimulating critical sense, political-social awareness and expanding the knowledge and cinematic repertoire of high school students from the exhibition and filmic analysis, Preceded by a film workshop. In the workshop, the methodology used included the practice of dialogue and argumentation, through a large game in which, in teams, students exercised the construction of film synopsis. In a second stage, they watched and were guided in the analysis of the film "The Woman King", an historical epic directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, well evaluated by critics, although with restrictions of the Afro-descendant community for historical imprecision, evidenced in the debate. Executed at the Geraldo Melo Santos State School, the project proved to be effective in engaging students and encouraging discussion on topics such as resistance to colonialism, cultural identity and female leadership. The results also point to a significant gain in the training of future social scientists, who exercised in a dialogical pedagogical practice and stimulating autonomy, freedom and teaching-learning of an inspiring audience, adolescents. In addition, the Cine Sociais highlighted the potential of cinema as an educational tool to connect theory and practice, in the academic extension, which transcends the walls of the university.
